Mr. Lim Kwang Joo and Mr. Tan Boon Seng set up a 1000 sq ft facility in one of the JTC factories in Kallang to assemble electrical panels. |

To cater to the rising demands of HDB flats, Sunlight shifts its operation to a 3500 sqft workshop in Toa Payoh to increase its production of switchboards. |
| 1982 |
The rising demands from the HDB flats increase exponentially, leading to the tripling of Sunlight's business volume. Sunlight shifts to a 9,600 sq ft factory in Tagore Ave. |
| 1985 |
Sunlight relocates to a 45,000 sq ft double-storey factory at Gul Ave. Sunlight becomes the first company in Singapore to use CNC Turret Punch machine to manufacture electrical switchboards. |
| 1990s |
Sunlight changes its direction and focuses more on private residential, factories, schools, government buildings, airports, process plants, etc. Key projects include: SONY SDS factory, Seagate Technology at Ang Mo Kio & Woodlands, NEC Capital Tower, Singapore Airfreight Terminal 6, and several others. |
At the same time, Sunlight initiates a series of product type-testing activities at the SISIR and other overseas ASTA accredited labs and receives a range of ASTA and KEMA Type-test Certifications.

Sunlight officially opens its latest headquarters at No. 1 Third Chin Bee Rd. The year coincides with Sunlight's 40th anniversary. |

Sunlight has obtained Singapore Green Products Certification for FULL Sunlight Low Voltage product range by Building & Construction Authority (BCA) for:
- Sunlight Low Voltage Switchboards
- Sunlight Motor Control Panels
- Sunlight Pan Assembly Distribution Boards
- Sunlight Consumer Unit and Meterboards
